To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to recommend Maggie Smith as a storyboard artist. I am the Chair of Visual Effects for the Savannah College of Art and Design and I worked with Maggie and two of her classmates, as they created the complete storyboards and animatic for a short Science Fiction film this last Fall Quarter. This was an intense, high-pressure class and it was an exploratory experience for all parties involved.

From our initial meeting, through the struggle to produce a mountain of work amidst a tight schedule and finally to the refining and reworking of the storyboards, Maggie was always an energetic, cheerful and determined go-getter. She required minimal direction to begin her work, always had something new to show each week and took direction without complaint. Her contribution to the project was substantial and she took every opportunity to improve her work to benefit the project. She is a team player and she fosters a positive, creative spirit in every interaction.

Maggie was a joy to work with and an undeniable talent. I would welcome the opportunity to work with her again at any time in the future.

Please feel free to contact me at jeffrey.light@scad.edu should you like to discuss Maggie’s qualifications and experience further. I’d be happy to expand on my recommendations.

Sincerely,

To Whom it May Concern:

It is an honor to take this moment to recognize Miss Maggie Smith’s character and enthusiasm for art. Maggie has participated in the Visual Storytelling course I taught in the Sequential Art dept. of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Through this course Maggie demonstrated a keen aptitude to learn, strong class participation, and the ability to surprise.

In all of our classes, Maggie was always prepared.  She showed dedication, determination and an eye for detail.  She was able to critique fellow students with thoughtful remarks and willing insight. Throughout this last quarter, Maggie took a leap in her ability, showing more consistency in her drawings, layouts, and anatomy.  I was especially impressed with her ability to multi-task and complete work on time while working on films and other classes all in the same quarter.

Once again, I want to affirm Miss Smith’s character as an individual and her artistic talent and style that show an ability to tell an exceptional story. She is an upcoming artist that would benefit from professional opportunities while being an asset to your program or project.

Sincerely,
